Midgard´s new AYNO lighting family

The contemporary interpretation of an adjustable lamp by German industrial designer Stefan Diez is radically reduced to the essentials:

Central feature of AYNO lighting family is a fiberglass rod, which is bent into the desired position by moving the two adjustment rings that tighten or relax the cable, thus directing the light where it’s needed.

AYNO is available as table or floor light in three different sizes in black or silk grey. Each model is fitted with textile cable in neon orange or in lamp colour, equipped with a dimmable LED.

About Midgard – lighting the way for modernism since 1919

Midgard lamps are defined by their superior functionality, quality and design – and have many admirers. One of them: Walter Gropius who used Midgard lamps in his home and in the Bauhaus design school Dessau. Until today, Midgard lamps are entirely produced and assembled in Germany using the original tools.

  • The award-winning design by Stefan Diez for Midgard will be presented at ICFF New York for the very first time

This contemporary interpretation of an adjustable lamp by German industrial designer Stefan Diez for Midgard embodies the company´s spirit of invention. Radically reduced to the essentials, AYNO meets the highest standards of design, technology and sustainability.

AYNO is available as a table or floor light in three different sizes (S, L and XL) and will also come as a wall-mounted version in black or silk grey. Each model is fitted with a textile-coated cable in the same colour as the lamp or in neon orange, and with a dimmable LED available in three different light temperatures (2700K/ 3000K/ 4000K). AYNO is one of the very first LED lamps where the user can exchange the LED unit without needing any tools. AYNO has won the 2021 German Sustainability Award in Design.

About AYNO - an adjustable luminaire without joints

As a contemporary interpretation of adjustable lighting, AYNO is particularly filigree, minimal and extremely sustainable. The central feature of the AYNO lighting family is a fiberglass rod, which is bent into the desired position by moving the two adjustment rings that tighten or relax the cable, thus directing the light where it’s needed. Thanks to the rod’s inherent tension, the lamp needs no joints. Further fine adjustments can be made with the swiveling lampshade. All parts are made of recycled and/or recyclable material.

    Design by Stefan Diez

Central feature of the AYNO lighting family is a fiberglass rod, which is stretched to the bow by the luminaire cable. The inherent tension of the rod allows a lamp without any joints. By sliding the two adjustment rings at top and bottom, the fiberglass rod is bent into the desired position and the light is directed where needed. The fine adjustment is done with the swiveling lampshade.
