100% French manufacturer, since 1960 CVL Luminaires designs and manufactures high quality lightings in solid brass for residential and hospitality projects. CVL is in constant progress and knows how to develop its know-how and quality of workmanship. Its adaptability insures a unique production, from small quantities to large series. In addition to its internal design studio lead by Émilie Cathelineau, CVL surrounded itself with independent designers such as Hervé Langlais, POOL and Kristian Gavoille; in other words a clever blend of talents to broaden up the collections and to offer a better visibility to all the creations. More dynamic than ever, CVL is providing the means behind its ambition to expand internationally, now offering UL certified products, customization services for specific projects, and participating for the first time in the ICFF exhibition in New York.

  • A 100% family-owned company and 100% French

Founded in 1960, and located in the Loire Valley, CVL Luminaires builds up a recognized and sought experience in France for the design and production of affordable consumer lights, in ceramic and wrought iron.

When Eric Baron took over the family-owned business after his father Henri in 1993, a change was much needed to respond to the market transformations and to resist to the low-priced foreign competition. Moving upmarket was his priority.

Today, CVL Luminaires is a manufacturer in constant progress – specialized in solid brass – who knew how to develop its unique know-how, its quality of workmanship and production with irreproachable finishes. All products are manufactured on site, in its traditional but yet ecological factory. Its adaptability insures a unique production, from small quantities to large series, from custom projects to a range of modular and adaptable standard designs.

Team spirit and a family of designers

The company employs about thirty collaborators, most of them in the workshop. Aware of the importance of the product design and willing to produce timeless pieces, CVL created an internal design studio lead by Émilie Cathelineau. It extends and customizes the services in terms of research, design, standardization and production, allowing to meet the expectations of the clients among which specialized stores, contractors, architects or hotel chains.

Eric Baron also surrounded himself with independent designers, as demanding and devoted to their work as he could expect. First among them, Hervé Langlais designed a collection in 2014; POOL in 2015 and Kristian Gavoille contributed to the 2017 new line.

Since 2017, Studio POOL – Léa Padavoni and Sébastien Kieffer – advises CVL Luminaires with artistic direction with the objective to initiate a guideline consistent with the personality of each designer in a faithful approach to in-house strength and spirit. A clever blend of talents to broaden up the collections and to offer a better visibility to all the creations.

More dynamic than ever, this year CVL Luminaires is providing the means behind its ambition to expand internationally, more specifically in North America, participating for the first time in the ICFF exhibition in New York.
